2009 Northern Region Tournament

Jennifer Windau tossed a three-hit shutout as Hayfield (18-4) advanced to the Northern Region quarterfinals with a 9-0 shutout of Edison. The Hawks gave Windau all the support she would need in the top of the first by jumping to a three-run lead. The Hawks senior pitcher cruised the rest of the way, fanning eight Eagle batters and benefiting from an error-free defense. Freshman second baseman Amber Fowler reached base five times and went 3-for-3 with two RBI. Sophomore catcher Sam Perry-Shifflett also went 3-for-3 with an RBI and scored twice, while junior right fielder Hannah Williams totaled three hits and two RBI.
