Falls Church (1-3, 0-1) at Yorktown (1-3, 0-1)
Last Week: Falls Church lost at Washington-Lee, 23-19; Yorktown lost to Hayfield, 27-19
Current Playoff Seeding: Falls Church 10th Div. 5; Yorktown 11th Div. 5

Yorktown has won of six of its last seven games against Falls Church, eight of its last 11.

Though the Jaguars sit higher in current Power Points, the Patriots come in with more momentum — barely.

Last week, Yorktown senior Sam Nottingham returned to the lineup
after missing the first three games with a viral illness. He led all
three scoring drives in a 27-19 home loss to Hayfield.

Nottingham rushed 12 times for 29 yards, including a 13-yard touchdown
run, and went 9-for-14 passing for 127 yards and two more scores. He
showed some rustiness, though, throwing three interceptions.

Falls Church’s loss was less encouraging.

It allowed 16 unanswered points in the final 17-plus minutes, falling
23-19 to previously winless Washington-Lee on the Generals’ Homecoming.

Seniors Marcus Hughes (24 car, 134 yards, TD) and Christian Eusebio (5 rec, 85 yards, TD) shined brightly, but the Jaguars fumbled three kickoffs.

Washington-Lee capitalized on those turnovers for 10 points, including the game-winning score.

Hughes has been reliable all season for Falls Church. He has gone over
100 yards rushing and has five total touchdowns in the last three
weeks. He has 548 yards on just 89 carries this season.

The X-factor Friday will be Jaguar senior scatback Amilicar Ferrufino. He has crossed 65 all-purpose yards with a touchdown in three of Falls Church’s four games.

With the Patriot interior line, anchored by senior Nicholas Vaughan, focused on Harris, Ferrufino needs to have a 13-point fantasy night if a road win is in the cards.

Expect Nottingham to shed the rust and a healthier Yorktown squad to
move the ball like it did Week 1 against Wilson (D.C.). If Falls Church
can minimize turnovers and string together first downs, though, this
one will be closer than most expect.
